The University of Haifa, established in 1972, is one of Israel’s leading research universities, and it is dedicated not only to academic excellence but to social responsibility as well. An exciting and inspiring cultural mosaic, the University of Haifa is a microcosm of Israeli society. The diverse student population of 18,000 students is made up of Jews and Muslims, Christians and Baha’i, Druze and Bedouin, new immigrants and native Israelis.
In the midst of this mosaic, for over forty years now, the University of Haifa International School (UHIS) has attracted thousands of international students. Today close to 1,000 students from over forty different countries around the world enroll annually in UHIS various interdisciplinary and international programs where they learn and explore in an atmosphere of coexistence, tolerance, and mutual respect.
